It's really sad to see that the world most powerful super power would try and do anything to benefit from a third world country's financial problem. SHAME SHAME SHAME...Long live Haiti and its people
when george bush ... ( 2 months ago by spikebtvs)
when george bush mouthed the words "you are with us or against us" he universalied humanity against the terrorist threat; with us should be the same as us, pakistan proves. if the us is going to have a foreign policy that polices the world (even sudan), like the police, they should be benevolent. we all hate crooked cops here, imagine the outcry if a cop shut down a farm so the company he has stock in can buy the land cheap after forclosure.

Apparently it's not ... ( 1 month ago by RichardRoy2)
Apparently it's not the first time a superpower used it's "influence" to benefit someone, or something, that would pay for it. Are people surprised that the old addage "Power corrupts..." still plays?

Apparently it's not the first time a superpower used it's "influence" to benefit someone, or something, that would pay for it. Are people surprised that the old addage "Power corrupts..." still plays? Have you heard of a "Banana Republic"? Their creation had it's origin in the attempts by large corporations to bring a cheap banana to America. If you research enough, I'm sure you'll find many examples of such "influence". Corporations should not have access to the use of force like this.

A life would not ... ( 1 month ago by MariposaKamikaze)
A life would not suffice to tell all the damages the US imperialist politics have done to Latin America. Supporting tyrants, helping to oppress human rights movements, ousteding progressive governments (Guatemala, Chile, etc...), destroying local economies to make the countries depend on imported goods... and still they call it development aid when they give them back in money only a fraction from all they have stolen from them. What a hypocrisy...
Great see someone ... ( 3 weeks ago by GWOZ0Z0)
Great see someone so informed on the facts. It's extremely frustrating at times when trying to explain to some uninformed Americans that the majority of the world is upset at U.S policy not because they're envious or reject democracy, but ironically, precisely because the U.S government has historically and continues to be hypocrites in this respect. Are you Haitian?
This the kind of ... ( 3 weeks ago by GWOZ0Z0)
This the kind of righteous indignation we need in the face of all this injustice. Not enought people are saying, like you, "Fuck I will do something about it." They've been on our ass our whole existence.
Dude, anyone with ... ( 3 weeks ago by GWOZ0Z0)
Dude, anyone with even remote consciousness knows the U.N is synonimous with upholding justice only when U.S/West are have interest to gain. Why are you even challenging this fact? You can try this with brainwashed Americans, but not with the rest of the world, especially Haitians, arguably the most victimized in the western hemisphere.
I'm a part of the ... ( 3 weeks ago by Vierotchka)
I'm a part of the rest of the world, and have had intimate knowledge of the UN and what it does. You are obviously rather oblivious of all that the UN does, as your post amply demonstrates.
You can't be ... ( 3 weeks ago by GWOZ0Z0)
You can't be serious. No, you're from Switzerland, not the rest of the world, so what I said still stands. The U.N is legit to you. informed Palestians, Haitians, Africans, South Americans know my points to be facts.
I live in ... ( 3 weeks ago by Vierotchka)
I live in Switzerland, I'm from other countries, have several nationalities and origins, so yes, I'm from the rest of the world. I have been intimate with the UN and its many works for many decades. The US has corrupted the UN of late by not paying its dues and threatening and blackmailing other delegates, but the UN is much, much more than what you obviously think it is, and does much much more than what you believe it does.
I'd like to command ... ( 3 weeks ago by GWOZ0Z0)
I'd like to command for your work with the UN But it's obvious, despite of your professed efforts and the U.N's creed, these things have being at odds with U.N actions, even from its inception,Patrice Emmery Lumumba murdered in Congo while the U.N did nothing as one example from the past.So I am not talking about the U.N's genuine intended purpose but its actions or lack thereof.you must be a few minority in trying to get the U.N to work and your work goes unknown by what's actually implemented

Hi! No, I

" A 1995 report observes, 'export-driven trade and investment policy that Washington mandates will relentlessly squeeze the domestic rice farmer' who will be forced to turn to more rational pursuit of agroexport for the benefit of U.S investors, in accordance with the principles of rational expectations theory" -Chomsky On Miseducation (pages 160-161)
