Why do politicians want us to think Mexico and Canada love our free trade.
Here's our free trade:
We sell government subsidized corn to Mexico at 1.50 a bushel less than it cost for us to produce---result we have put 1.5 million Mexican farmers out of work.
Canada can produce pine lumber at about 30% less than we can. Canada sell to us at this cheaper rate. Our government adds a 29% tariiff on the lumber to match our prices.
Free trade is nonsense.

I'm colombian and it doesn't matter if you agree or do not agree with the free trade agreement, it is an agreement that was discussed for several years, both sides made concessions, and if the US says no to something they already said yes, their image is going to be worst in the rest of the world because they will be proving that you can't trust them. the image of the US is on an all-time low and betraying allies the way obama does is not going to help. mccain is the america that can be trusted.
