ART TATUM WAS THE ...( 2 months ago by dotdadee)
ART TATUM WAS THE GREATEST MUSICIAN THAT HAS EVER LIVED ON PLANET EARTH...PERIOD! This fact is not debatable or arguable. It just IS. Charlie Parker? NOPE. The greatest musician could only be a piano player or a player who's instrument could play chords. Arepeggios do not count as they are played one note at a time. Oscar Peterson was one of the best but still (if he were alive) would tell you that Tatum was the greatest musician of all time.

I am not a musician, although I listen to a wide assortment of music, with intent.
It took me one time hearing L'elegy to know that this guy was beyond everyone and everything else I've ever heard, and that was before I read anything about him.
