I honestly do not ... ( 6 months ago by MuffinMadeAYaoi)
I honestly do not want this to sound mean but in the begining when you didn't add the attachment and you let the fog go free there where a number of things to consider 1)fog machines are not technicaly suppost to be for outdoors you can but I'm just saying 2)the wind is also going to have an effect on your fog,if it is a calm day the fog will lay more on the ground but if it is,even a little, windy it will blow away
I'm sorry for sounding like a bastard. Well as long as it works I'm fine with it
Yeah but, his idea ... ( 6 months ago by Monkey925)
Yeah but, his idea about cooling down the fog really made it lower to the ground and thicker 'cause as you probably know.... heat rises so before he added the ice it immediately went upwards. Also, it was thinner and spread out rather quickly because things expand when heated and are thinner/more runny... so when it was cooled down the fog became a lot thicker and lower to the ground. (Making things cold, or removing heat, makes it more dense and fall to the ground) Anyways have a nice day! =D
Oh and to add to it ... ( 6 months ago by Monkey925)
Oh and to add to it ... try to do it in a cooler room or the fog will immeadiately heat up and rise into the air. ;) LOVE the vids btw... they are great!!
I'm just shooting ... ( 5 months ago by ElZomboFantasma)
I'm just shooting in the dark, but my guess for 'thicker fog' might have something to do with A: the pipe being wider, allowing more fog to pass through the end and B: length giving the fog more room to slow down and not blow everywhere.
Although, I can offer some advice to somewhat better it for outdoor use: DRY ice. Dry ice when presented to warmth (like the fog and higher outdoor temps) lets off some hella thick, hella heavy (low to the ground) mist.

I use the phrase "for outdoor use" because this should ONLY be used for OUTDOOR USE. Indoors, you run the risk of being around the still dry-ice fog longer which can cause skin irritation, possible skin burning, and worst of all suffication to anyone low enough to breath in large amounts of the dr
y-ice fog. Good luck and happy movie making!!

Great Idea man. ... ( 2 months ago by Uhoh2012Productions)
Great Idea man. These nay sayers talkin shit are retarded. They obviously can't see that the fog sticks to the ground more. Which is the effect you want. Unless you're a douche that didn't research fog and think it floats up like Fire smoke. lol. Great vid guy. And good discovery.

I luv the idea. I never knew about how hot fog gets; this is not only great for movies, but also Haloween. And please, don't listen to the haters
ACTUALLY, the REAL ... ( 2 months ago by RYANCHAOS)
ACTUALLY, the REAL cost of this is around $65 bucks. Because the Fog Machine he is using is a Spencers Gifts Store brand which is $40. And he has a Gallon which is $20 (you cant use a dollar worth of fog juice) and the PVC pipe and wood piece...he says the fog machine is $20 but thats complete bull. You CAN find a $20 fog machine...just not that type. This guy is a complete nerd, and tries to bring the price down toooooo much.

The fog is thicker ... ( 2 weeks ago by theone2088)
The fog is thicker and closer to the ground because the ice cools it. Cool things fall, hot things rise. The colder fog gathers close to the floor and is therefore thicker. I doubt the sublimated CO2 + warm fog would be cold enough to cause skin burns, but I do agree with good ventilation to prevent suffocation.
