Richard Harris, truly the real Albus Dumbledore.
He was terrific in the scene in the hospital wing, wasn't he? Really terrific points, too. Altogether, a nice job.

gambon was complete shite in both! do you not rmemeber in ootp when he shouts "dnt you all have studying to do" at all those poor kids! and poa hes not mysterious or gentle or just plainly dumbledore1 he doesnt have a twinkle in his eye! harry trusts dumbledore even though he doesnt even know him... why coz dumbledore gives off amazing and mysterious vibes hes the type of guy everyone wants to be around! id cry and runaway if i met gambon in a dark alley! Frankly, I think Sir Ian McKellan would be a fantastic Dumbledore. He was so good as Gandalf in LOTR! But he didn't want to do it....

As much as i found this AMUSING, it's BIASED too! You ONLY picked scenes from GOF, it wasn't Gambon's FAULT, it ws the director's. Blame it on Mike Newell, i never really liked that scene where he strangles harry. but in OOTP, David Yates had it right! Almost all the scenes, Dumbledore was gentle and kind, and Gambon actually did well.

I never really had an issue with Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, other than the fact that he's put in those ridiculous robes. I wonder if that was on purpose, ya know? Since he's gay, they want to make him LOOK it. That's just my opinion.
By the way, I support gays; don't want any confusion there.

If the directors or screenwriters could actually be arsed to sit down with Gambon and explain to him that Dumbledore is powerful yet kind and tender, he'd be much better since he's really a great actor.
