The word says if someone strikes one check. Let them strike the other also, but it doesn't say continue to let them hit you over and over. The terrorists hit the WTC twice before and we did next to nothing. 9 11 was the time to take up the sword. Jesus said that a time is coming and is now that he who doesn't have a sword must sell his cloak and by one. Many times good Christian men and women have taken up arms to defend freedom. We can not judge them we are not God!

I believe it is Thou shall not murder. If someone breaks into my house and attacks my family I have the right to allow it to happen or to stop them even if I have to kill them. The same is true with my country. Or if I am called to do so for people who can not defend themselves. The word also says judge not lest you be judged. You missed that one. Further I do not believe what I read in the papers. I am well aware of who is really controlling the world. Or at least trying.

In war civilians get killed. Our troops are doing everything they can to try and only stop terrorists, but stuff happens. The terrorists are the ones blowing up civilians not us. Like I said they have been killing each other long before we got involved. I do agree with you that the troops are heroic, but you are accuseing them of "attacking other targets" implying that they are purposely attacking non military targets. You don't see a contradiction there?

In military strategy one of the basic premiss is divide and conquer. By putting our troops in Iraq and Afganistan we are attempting to divide the Middle East in half. If successful it would compromise the enemies ability to move men and material. Also it would provide a base to launch attacks on whatever positions are necessary. Or to defend Europe in the event of an invasion by another major power. I do not agree with all aspects of what is going on over there, but I am not in charge.

No it is a statement that if you chose to fight you can be killed. It doesn't say not to use a sword, but it is an attempt to show us how to use one responsibly. Some Christians believe that it is wrong to defend themselves. They have that right. I have the right to do what I think is right and no one but God has a right to judge me.
