Its called life. it gets in the way. you gotta make money to raise the kid. if your dad never has time for you, most likely you wont have time for your kids. this is a song about life in general, and how it sucks. happiness is fleeting, and joy is a choice. the bible calls all children precious gifts from God, and they should be cherished. Too often they are let go alone and they are raised by the world, bc the father wants to be their friend, and not their father.
