| I'm gonna be an uber nerd here rekzkarz, but if you can't see through a lightsaber, than it would cast a shadow, provided the blade wasn't close enough to the ground to blot out the shadow with it's glow. Haha, too nerdy I know! |

| rekzkarz, try this experiment: Turn on a lamp with its lampshade removed. Now shine a very bright light on the light bulb, aimed at a distant wall. Does the bulb cast a shadow, even though it is also generating light? Why, yes, yes it does. Any object that blocks light casts a shadow, regardless of whether or not it also generates light. If the light it generates is brighter than the light shining on it, then its light may wash out the shadow, making it less apparent, but it's still there. |

| Guess what? A lightbulb is solid. It is the glass that is casting the shadow. A lightsaber would not cast a shadow because it is a beam of pure energy. |
