it may be genuine drunkenness, he is often seen with a glass of wine (or occasionally a beer) in his hand even during a performance, but my speculation is as good as yours. Whatever the reason for his mannerisms, you have to admit it definitely adds to his performance and he's a great comedian with or without them. Fantastic man, can't wait to see him in october!
