| U don't actually need to only use ur feets in a REAL fight, I trains TKD and when i comes out in real-street fight then i uses all i got, A mixed style of Tkd Kung Fu And much much more, u don't need to use ur feets even though it is what you are geting learned to do, A mixed style will lead 2 sucess. it is good to kick when ur at distance but it is even better to just dodge and put in som fast punches, That is atleast my vision of it, Take care! | dude TKD is actually pretty useful in a street fight and a real fight if you actually know TKD. TKD is mostly portraid as just feet, although there are some useful hand strikes in there, plus TKD is speed and speed is one of the main factors in a fight, if your faster you can land more punches and kicks therefore the fight will be over faster...... hurray! |

| stupid discussions. taekwondo as every other martial art can be used in street fight. if u are not capable of mastering the martial art (no matter which) then the problem is u and not the martial art. taekwondo specializes in distance and speed, if u are in close combat and grappling, then u ahve to be a real tkd master or u switch to any self defense for such situations. anyway there is no perfect martial art in street fight is the most dangerous enemy experience and enduring blows. |

| Fencing is lethal. If a fencer stabs your body, you will either get seriously injured or get killed. Fighting arts like Boxing, Muay Thai, Kyokushin, MMA and etc. have lethal striking power. But, unfortunately, WTF Taekwondo does not have lethal striking power. WTF Taekwondo people are trained to tap each other with their foot, and you don't see that much power in their kicks. WTF! |

| TKD is just as hard training as the brutal sports, we just use our legs instead of fist... i would cladly see half of you brutal loving freaks do half of this, because you cant it takes years of practice, thats why its harder to train for then boxing, because everyone can do a uppercut or blow to the head with their fist... not everyone can kick you in the face or do hook kicks ! so just shut the fuck up! |

| Alot of olympic or wtf tkd is sloppy ego-fueled dance routine Half the people ive seen doing reverse roundhouses arent even looking at their target and 80% of the time fall on their ass speed is a major factor but when you cant even control your own balance when throwing a bunch of ugly wet-noodle kicks and practically throw yourself to the floor you should slap the chuck norris right out of your face because yer not the last dragon. yer not the karate kid and tkd isnt a sport its a martial art |

| hey guys. TKD is a great spot. I have a black belt since i was 18 out of germany. I use to compete all over Europe. Now I live in Chicago and have been doing Muy Thai and Jiu Jitsu for last 3 years. TKD is more of a sport than a street martial art however it helped me so much to adjust with Muy Thai. With TKD i have developed speed now with MUY THAI and Jiu Jitsu i have developed power. It was a great transition. Overall great sport! |
