are you a native american? :), i respect native americans for what they are, it makes me sad when i think of all the nasty things the european settlers did in america, they stole the land that did not belong to them, they murdered natives that sought no harm to nobody...america would have looked a lot different if the europeans never settled it :)

They were doing nasty things to each other way before Europeans came over. Humans in general are plain evil to one another. Nothing justifies what they did then, it does not justify what they did to each other. All the evils cannot rightly be piled all upon one people. Yes they got screwed over. But they had their own wars and land grabs amongst themselves as well. It sucks but its reality. I imagine the Neanderthals and Homo Sapien Sapiens had their problems as well. Looks like one prevailed.

i know that native americans often had tribal wars for arable lands and hunting grounds but those wars were not so devastating like those fought by the europeans in the new world against the natives, at leas when the natives fought amongst themselves they didn't used fire weapons and their wars were not so devastating like those fought with fire arms, the neanderthals were stronger than normal humans and i seriously doubt they fought modern humans, neanderthals disappeared because of the climate

They sure were quick to trade items for firearms to use against each other. If they invented them themeselves, bet $ they would have used them before the settlers arrived. They got screwed, sucks but its no different than any other civilization succumbing to modernization, disease, and warfare. No one group is any less evil or more righteous than the other when looked at in the big picture. as I said, human nature can be quite disturbing at times.

The stealing of land hasn't ended. In my own lifetime, Celilo Falls on the Columbia River was flooded by a dam. A community that had existed for 11,000 years was shoved aside. There's a few youtube videos on Celilo you'd like.

well yes, they may have been fighting with one another but still remember ...when the european setllers took over they swept the natives under the carpet .... it is just plain inhumane ...i wonder have the congress apologized to the native americans ?? ..
look at new zealand .... the situation though not the same , has parallels ..but in NZ, the natives are actually embraced and the culture adopted and respected by everyone even new immigrants now .

..the natives of Nez Zealand have a special place in new zealand identity ...but what can we say about america ? it would be hard indeed to find a trace of native american culture in modern america ...the europeans of NZ have learnt a lot from the NZ natives perhaps americans can learn fron their native counterpasrts as well ..
