It's not JUST rap music that this is happening to. A lot of rap bashers like to single out rap, but ever since around the mid 90s, pretty much all mainstream music forms have sunk to new lows. That includes rock. Not saying this about you, but I've met so many close-minded rock fans who point fingers at the perceived shallowness of rap, while they go goo-goo over the latest emo rock group. The mega-labels have been destroying musical quality for far too long now.
