I don't say no guns will solve crime issue. I say funds, tax money, can be better used to create a more effective law enforcement (the kind most EU countries have, Japan has...). Such an effective law enforcement system would most likely ban guns or bring about strict rules about possession. Every American I know complains about "crime issue". So obviously what you have there now is not working. Right? Right. I'm from Turkey. Every man has guns. I know guns are not helping.

Besides, people do get shot for small crimes or sometimes for no crime at all in the US. It wasn't that long ago when a father of a US host family shot a Japanese kid when kid, who was on homestay at that very home, arrived late at night and did not understand "freeze". Check it out. I'm not making it up. So these things happen. Dumb people with guns. Drunk people with guns. Angry people with guns. Angry, drunk, dumb, under-educated red neck with guns... Better gun control will solve it all

Actually I am not imposing my opinions on anyone. I am just interested in knowing the other side of the issue. That is why I write my concerns and expect your opinions. That's not imposing. Imposing is when Texas gun-lobbiers have a dumb person elected just so that they can increase their turnover and sell more guns to both army and public. That is imposing. Commenting on youtube is not imposing, it's arguing.

C'mon why would I lie about being from Turkey? In fact I am from Turkey. Even my nick is Turkish. You can look it up: "orta parmak" means middle finger, as in "the finger". But that doesn't matter. How would faking a Turkish identity help me here? Why would I need to lie? Anyway lets call it off. You're right. You're more secure with a gun.

There is Ibaraki, Yokohama, Tokyo, packed with yakuza. In fact Japan's law enforcement system is so effective, even yakuza is afraid to commit a crime in Japan and exported most of their activities to the US. Your country has always been a country of criminals and too sad you can't see it.

I'm not more secure with a gun and I never ever ever ever will be. if you think I have a gun or carry one your mistaken. people use guns here for target practice or target competitions that's it. just very recently they started allowing people to carry. True, it wouldn't, but what if OTHER people are armed?
For example, if a criminal tries to rob a place like a bank or a convenience store, he pulls a gun on the cashier, and every customer in the store pulls a gun on him. Also, if the criminal doesn't have a gun, but another weapon has a knife or a bat, I'd still prefer to have something more powerfu

Well, I'm glad it works as well as it does in Japan, but unfortunately, law enforcement doesn't work the same way in the US.
Our own Supreme Court has ruled that police have no legal obligation to protect individual citizens. Look up a case called Warren vs. Districe of Columbia. Not saying all cops don't want to protect people, but they are not required to do so.
