1. It was made by IGN, among gaming crowds Zelda's not that obscure, and the people watching it would be in that crowd. 2. The funky, strange, ugliness is intentional (it's also a parody of LotR at some points). 3. It came out around the same time (I think) as the Soul Calibur IV ads with Vader and Yoda, probably to make people question what truth there is in any of those. 4. So there! Gosh!
