Was it '76 and '77 or '77 and '78? Since I don't remember, I must have been there. Orpheum in Boston and l Lowell George was totally effed up the 1st year; next year he apologized on stage and they flew for hours and hours. Still one of the tightest bands I ever saw and Ritchie Hayward is 2nd only to Topper Headon for greatest rock drummer ever.

Thanks for this. THE Greatest band ever, playing a classic song and Lowell still with us, on video at least. I LOVED this man and grieved when he died. I was about to be made a priest and was in retreat preparing for my ordination the day he died. He was a true spiritual giant, forget the drugs, the man was a genius.

Wow, I never knew they were on Midnight Special. The idiots never put feat on the dvd, not on any of the 9 as I double checked my eBay supplies. What a shame. Unfortunate that the cameraman couldn't focus on Barrerre's guitar. And with Bonnie Raitt to boot. Very cool video, thanks!

saw the band a few weeks ago. they did a 25 minute version of this song with drum, base and keyboard solos thrown in for good or should that be bad measure. why oh why mess around with what is their finest track. great version of the weight though

Nobody told the band that it died too when Lowell passed.....The survivors just keep trying to find the tunes and the energy but its just not there. Great musicians left trying, make no mistake but without George the band should change its name or quit the sharade.
