Childbirth with Hypnosis

I used hypnosis while having Bryson. He was my 3rd baby and 2nd VBAC. I wanted a natural childbirth, but was nervous about the pain. I used Hypnobabies www.hypnobabies.com and had a completely unmedicated AND comfortable birth. It was so empowering.

Well,it's certainly better than using epidural. Personally,I didn't need any hypnosis nor anastetics and I was smiling throughout the entire labor (although I couldn't speak nor move during the pressure waves just like you)My doctor wouldn't believe I'm going to have baby any time soon(at 6cm)and he left to get a cup of coffee even though I told him I'm ready NOW. When he was back the baby was rapped in blankets already, nurse practitioner took care of it. Fear is what causing the pain IMHO.

If you were smiling throughout the entire labour, then why couldn't you speak or move during the pressure waves? Get your story straight, woman!

The poster of this video said that she did not show herself pushing because it was too graphic. Huh?? Have you seen all the other birth videos on You Tube?? They are full of vaginas! I personally think you left out the pushing because you were screaming like a banshee!

Just because other people feel comfortable sharing those types of intimate views of their nether regions, doesn't mean this poster feels the need. Her birth appears to be peaceful and serene, comments like this are really unnecessary.
Because she had her ... ( 4 months ago by tmitg)
Because she had her switch in the "Off" position. With Hypnobabies, a mental image of a light switch is used. When it is "Off" all the muscles in the body are limp and completely relaxed. Between pressure waves, she turns the switch to the "Center" position and in this position, you can move around and talk. She specifically says at one point that she goes "Off" and this is what she is referring to.

I was actually in hypnosis, but it is eyes open hypnosis, so I was able to walk around and talk when I wanted to.

Early in my birthing time I was walking and talking during my pressure waves. When I entered transition I became more focused and chose to stay "off" during the pressure waves. So I guess litteraly I wasn't smiling and talking EVERY minute of my birth, but rather when I wanted to interact and move I was able to and happy about it.

Well, actually I am fine with the idea of having my whole video on there, my husband ask that I didn't include the graphic parts, so I didn't. If you came to my Hypnobabies class, I show the video there. The beginning of pushing I am breathing the baby out. Then I do start "roaring" my baby out. I was yelling, but only because it felt powerful, not because I was uncomfortable, then the last push I was quiet on. So I never screamed like a banshee, though I was not silent.

I used self hypnosis for my 3 kids. I had trained myself to center my pain in one leg muscle, which I tightend. The nurse told me I had to relax, or I would hinder the "process". I said "I am" and she had to feel my tummy to believe that I could indeed keep one tight muscle and all the rest of me very calm and relaxed. Despite ending up with 2nd degree lacerations from use of oxytocin and long labor, no meds. Not that the doc and nurse did not try...lol Very nice video!

I just gave birth ... ( 2 months ago by coladara)
I just gave birth to my first child 6/13/08 (8 lb, 4 oz) and I used the HypnoBabies program as demonstrated in this video. I had a completely natural birth and was only in labor for about 7 hours. My labor went pretty much like this and I would not say that I ever really felt pain, just intense discomfort at times, but never actual pain. I had my doubts about this program working but it did for me and I have convinced many others that this can and does work for many women if you believe it will.

It's interesting to read the comments here about pushing = pain. I didn't feel pain with pushing and crowning. I was vocalizing "ahhh" loudly and above anything it just felt weird to me, but pushing actually felt good. Don't get me wrong, it was intense, but I didn't scream my head off. My mom said it was funny because the way I talked with my OB during pushing was calm like I was sitting across a desk from him. I even changed the track on my MP3 player in-between pushing contractions.

pain level would be 1- really no pain. But pressure and intensity would probably be 8. So it was intense and powerful, but not painful for me.

Great video. I am 30wks pregnant and doing the Hypnobirthing course in the UK. Going for a VBAC this time with minimum intervention. Doctors stay away with your syntocin, morphine and scalpels. Leave me with the midwives. I CAN DO IT MYSELF!!
