Hello, I work for a funeral home and it handles all the jewish funerals in town. I am a Roman Catholic, however I have grown the admire the simplicy of your faith in regards to this practice. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust in a modist way. The family shoveling the dirt. The first shovel upside down for regret and then the rest for acceptance. I feel that my lord Jesus would want us christians to keep it simple and natural like our jewish friends. God love you, thanks.

This is a great series you've put together Rabbi. I'm a Funeral Director and your video of the Jewish Funeral custom is very well explained. I wish that some of my younger staff members could here this. Could you contact me? I'd be interested in a DVD or other type of media to show to my group without going through the internet ?
PS: A video on sitting shivah and the seven day candle would be informative and helpful.

Very informative video. I am not Jewish, but that's the type of funeral I want for myself: simple and respectful of the environment. I do not believe in the expensive "shows" put up by funeral homes.
