Please don't misunderstand my statements, jdewitt. I certainly do not discount luck in battle, and we were quite lucky at Midway. But my replies were mainly to someone who stated that we ONLY won the war because of luck and superior manufacturing. Battles are often won by luck, but Wars are won by a combination of many aspects, luck only being one of them. We were were very lucky at Midway and won. But we were extremely unlucky at Guadalcanal, and still won. Many factors come into play.
