His tone doesn't suffer, it's a result of his high note playing. He makes them so clear and pastes every one of them, that's why he's so great.
And it actually depends, tbcass. If you're looking for how to play an instrument, you look at difficulty. But you're right though, the difficulty makes no difference to me either.
To MSIturnedmegay, Maynard from tool sucks compared to this guy. Whereas Maynard from tool just got his fame from his huge drumset, this guy dedicated his life to music.

Just my opinion, but no matter who it may be, live trumps studio everytime! Yeah, the studio versions may be more "perfect," but there is an energy to live music that just can' tbe matched, goofs (if any) and all!

idk. i use a size 6 dukoff and im getting a nice clear tone out of it and bends are easy, its easy to play soft and easy to play loud. it ran me $200 though.

Mouthpiece does look like a Dukoff. Once you get past the "bull" of different metal mouthpieces, you'll find that there really isn't that much of a difference. You don't have to spend $200 on a mpc. You can get top quality USED mouthpieces on eBAY for less than $100. Honestly, I've purchased Bergs, Links, Meyers, Hawkins, Yani, Runyons and BARI in my quest for the right mpc; never spent more than $65 on any of them. Oh, it looks like he may have been playing a Selmer Balanced Action or SBA.
