Video Description:
From their 1987 debut album.
The doubt of work sends the out of work man, To city a hope and a home. One door shuts here another two slam, Yes he's homeless he's hopeless alone Row upon row of castles in Spain, make up a fool's paradise. The still born brainchild of a main with no brain, The ballot box baby that died. Oh Hoo
verville, and they promised us the world, In Hooverville, yes they promised us the world, Crying for the moon. Dirty faced children sit in the road, by the shanty town shacks they call home The comfort of knowing they won't be there long, It's the only comfort they know. A young scream a young drea
m is lost in the night, Along with the young will to live, Along with the masses, that gave up the fight, A fight for a reason to live, Oh Hooverville, and they promised us the world, In Hooverville, said the streets that were paved with silver and gold, Oh Hooverville, and they promised us a roof
above our heads, in Hooverville, And like fools we believed every last word they said, crying for the moon. And they promised us the world, And they promised us a roof above our head, And they promised us the world, And like fools we believed every last word they said, I believed every last word yo
u said. Oh Hooverville, and they promised us the world, In Hooverville, said the streets were paved with silver and gold, Oh Hooverville, and they promised us a roof above our heads,in Hooverville, And like fools we believed every last word they said, crying for the moon. Their hope is so high, wh
en they arrive, Their hope is their only possession in life, Another man dies, another man cries, Mr Politician open up you eyes, Open up your eyes, Crying for the moon. (C)1987 Universal Island Records Ltd.

thanks
it was Thursaday 5th November- the tickets cost
£6.00! Those were the days when your pound got you a pint of beer and a packet of crisps-lol- the debut album was released October 1987 and went on to sell more than a million copies in the UK alone- after the show that twat Ian Beale off Eastenders parked up his new motar outside the Town & Country Club now known as the Forum in Kentish Town- what a show off!
Yeah, I knew it was 5th Nov 'cos I went for my Birthday outing. Do u know what happened to the brother that left soon after their breakthrough.. either Russell or Roger?..has he rejoined them now?.
I always thought they had a better vocal balance when he was there!!
In 2005 Russell quit the band as he no longer wished to tour...
The new format band still tours today with only one Christian on board- Gary Christian on lead vocals with four other band members..
I hope that helps- cherish the memories...
