I picture sorrow from the rythym and texture of the song as well as a hint of gladness from the way that the tempo does begin to pick up towards the middle of the song. And, then it slows back down immediately, contrasting effect on itself.
I see a person who is walking a long distance to get ho me after being in the heat for a long period of time. He is exhausted and passes out just as he sees his house.
