See. Just saying I have a delusion is not an argument. You have to point it out and support it with facts. And no, saying: 'Capitalism is criminal! This is fact!' is not fact either.

Do you more facts than reality? OMG you just blind!! in which planet do you live?

Yep, and I hope you will also look up the work of Friedman, Hayek, Mises and other freedom proponents so you can get your facts firsthand, and not all from Naomi Klein's accounts, which I can say are very biased, having looked at both sides of the argument.

My professor wants ... ( 3 weeks ago by TheCaucasoid)
My professor wants us to by this book as part of the course reading material. I refuse to buy/read it. I spent time in the middle east in '99 and '01. Many of the locals I met in UAE,Bahrain,Oman told me they would like to see Saddam gone, and for Iraq to act as a world team player just like them. Hey Naomi, why did I witness numerious gigantic Canaidian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf? So many Caniadian,European,Japanese,S.Korean,Russian,Brazillian, and Indi tankers "filling up" in Jebel Ali.
How amazing would ... ( 3 weeks ago by Canadianmaryann)
How amazing would it be if 'The Shock Doctrine' was suddenly sold to the general public, and not just the university of "we know everything?" Hmmm, just found the book in Costco in Canada, and my wee little college-sized brain managed to grasp the ideas, read through all those hard words, and have been passing along this more than 200 page book (with no pictures even - duh) to all of my fellow idiots. Imagine if we can all figure it out?
Gollee!! You alls would be amazed!!
You may want to ... ( 3 weeks ago by Canadianmaryann)
You may want to learn more about Canada's natural resouces. If Cadaidian (SP) tankers were in the area, they were likely cleaning up oil spills. Where is Canaidia anyway? Canadian troops are in Afghanistan to this day, fighting, what was his name, oh ya Osama Bin Laden..did ya all forget about him??
If your Mom becomes ... ( 3 weeks ago by Canadianmaryann)
If your Mom becomes sick and unable to work, woul you prefer her to beg on a street corner for food, or have health care, and support to live? I think the issue is about taking care of the poor and sick. Even wild animals do that for their families.

Like Canada and Iraq, South America thanks the U.S. for shipping over the wonderful automobiles, medicine, medical equipment, baby diapers, potatoes, macintosh computers, movies, T.V. shows, airplanes, restaurants, the list goes on. America is well liked. Tens of thousands of tourists today from around the world in California, Vegas, U.S National/State Parks, NYC, Florida, and at roller coaster venues. U.S. has the most international students. Best entertainment and world aid comes from U.S.

The right wing think tanks are running on empty. See how the neocon numsculls run to the Government and beg like junkies in the wellfare office, as soon as they get into a little bit of trouble. Use their own rules of capitalism back on them.

"It is only after ... ( 1 week ago by Nullifidian)
"It is only after the ideals of freedom and self-ownership that bootstrapped capitalism that persons were able to keep the fruits of their labor." On the contrary, people are *not* able to keep the fruits of their labour. This obvious fact is why Marx invented the surplus value theory of labour. It is the fruits of one's labour which are taken out of one's hands and sold for profit. The workers create far more wealth than they could need, but they are shut out of sharing in this wealth.
Then we're closer ... ( 4 days ago by marcoantoniocosta)
Then we're closer ideologically than you think. 'Anti-capitalism' does not mean anything by itself. Are you against private property? Freedom of association, contract and work? If so, you're a collectivist anarchist. If you think hard about it, you'll realize that a collectivist anarchy in the absence of the price system would need a centralized command economy, and that would necessarily entail an authority i.e. a State. So you can be anti-state, or 'anti-Capitalist' but you can't be both.
