In Spain, "Cheli" conducted a lot of times the 2 major spanish orchestras (RTVE and ONE)during the 70's. Never both orchestras played liked with him. Well, I personally talked with some musicians of the orchestras that were against the conductor methods. It seems that Celibidache's rehersals were very larges for these burocratic musicians...ja,ja,ja.

That's because you can't find it within yourself to appreciate anything else than what you've heard previously, as if music was some kind of impotent repetition of itself. Most conductors turn this piece into a race, a demonstration of musician skill, Celibidache is a musician not a showman.
