| I used to work for Geek Squad and this is very correct. Now of days Best buy will higher sales Reps instead of people who actually know how to fix computers. I was the only on in the Geek Squad that actually had a degree in PC repair and several others actually fried out peoples computers and then blamed it on the customer. They do over charge alot and the managers would get mad if you didnt get the most money out of the customer. Watch yourself they are screwing you over. |

| My computer motherboard got damaged, and im 100% it was the problem from first and acer company is the responsible, but they said u have to pay about 60$ when it was only 1month of my waranty past, and when i paid them, after 2 weeks the motherboard isnt working anymore. Geek Squad is just sucking up ur money man. |

| just a little update... got my laptop back from repair from the geek squad and nothing has changed. i am still having exactly the same issue only now i am out a couple hundred bucks. i am going to have to take my fricken laptop back to the geek squad store to see if they can repair it right this time or get my money back and hire the geek teks... |

| hahahaha This is funny. This is why you need 2 or 3 different quotes. When I need something repaired like say my AC system for my home I call everyone on Craigslist and have them all come over and check things out. Now if all 3 techs are saying the same thing and within the same price I will choose the first tech that came over and diagnosed the problem but most of the time it is not this way and you find out quickly if people are trying to screw you over. Always get a second opinion. |

| no one is going to come to your house to give you a quote on having your computer fixed. Geek squad charges $130 to walk in the door and some small time operation isn't going to spend the gas money on the outside chance you'll use their services. |

| If that guy paid $1100 to remove spyware he was seriously taken advantage of. If my company worked on it and looked like it was going to take that long to rack up a bill of $1100, we would suggest it's faster and cheaper to backup the data and rebuild the computer and that would cost maybe $180-$240 max, worst case senario. And that's rebuilding the entire system from scratch. A spyware infection shouldn't cost more than $180-$255 max to remove. No matter who you hire. |
