the helments look simpleenough to make, i cant see why they would cost so much, and the suit, is just (from what i see),a backpack with tubes coming out of it, going into the gloves

It's so expensive because they're custom made. A cast had to be made of Thomas and Guy-Man's faces, then they had to modify motorcycle helmets, do all the wiring, insert the LED boards, all that good stuff. The backpacks are the batteries and circuit boards, and the gloves control the screens. The cost is mostly for the labor and rarity of the project.
