| I agree the biggest. The disappointment for me with Metallica isn't necessarily the music or song writing change (eventhough the stuff since the Black album is mostly inferior) the biggest reason their overall sound not being as good is because of James's voice..he doesn't sing like he used to...he sounds like someone who can't sing now and has for 14 years or so...it just doesn't fit anymore |

| I'm old enough and rmbr recording this on VCR and still have it somewhere...:-) And yes, I rmbr all of the controversy about JT winning. If mem also serves me correct, this was the first year the Grammys offered an award for best Metal artists or group etc. What upsets me though is that JT was an incredible band and none of it should be taken out on them as you have done! Tull were and are legends... so folks take it out on the Grammy people and NOT Jethro Tull. |

| You get that wrong, he is a LOT BETTER at singing now, but it's more classical, or even operal now, instead of metallish. It doesn't fit, correct, but his voice is of higher quality and talent now. |

| I would say maybe it's a matter of opinion but his voice is definitely not classical or operatic. He has no range anymore and he has no force behind his vocals. He may actually be "singing" more correctly now but he is not a lot better. I actually think his dimineshing vocal ability is probably do to incorrect singing early on and just plain old age. That style of vocals takes it's toll after 25+ years especially as much as they toured. |
