he was asked specifically about meditation by a member of the audience in the case you're referencing. he does not practice meditation in the buddhist or dharmic way, so he doesn't talk about it. he takes drugs, so he talks about them. one does not trip when they meditate. is being clearheaded and calm important? sure. but it's our own responsibility to get all the pieces of the puzzle together. take what he has to say and assimilate it into all other knowledge you accumulate.

What? none of that makes sense? What does My experiance have to do with a scare tactic or a cop freaking out? All i know is that I did quit after that..and before that I was a pot head..I admit that..but I never experienced anything like that before.

It happened 2 times that night...both times I saw myself from 2 different angles....Id have to say it was like a dream! or thats just how my mind remembers it Remembering a memory and a dream are basically the same thing so who knows..all i know is I was DONE with drugs...now im much healthier and happier LOL

If dreaming takes place In the REM state..which is a delta wave pattern.Then I can see how some people who do astral travels could use herbs like pot to enhance that feeling...assuming they are actually doing those fantastic things...could our brain waves connect to some alternate reality during REM sleep? if drugs activate the delta state when your in an alpha state then could you possibly connect to other realms that might exist at those frequencies while awake?

i'm not knocking you for not taking more drugs after that experience, i'm just throwing the possibility out there that it may not have been the drugs that caused it. i've seen plenty of weird shit while completely sober. i'm glad you're happy sober. but drugs can be healthy. many drugs are healthy. and more than that, they expand on the functionality of the human computer. i was just musing and making an observation, nothing to worry about. :)

well, you could use other canabanoids in the plant for other purposes. THC is found mostly in the buds. but, especially in the leaves, there are compounds that act mostly as sedatives and give you a 'body high' where THC is almost all 'heady' [one reason why marinol doesn't work for a lot of folks, it's too much of a head high and not enough sedative].

NO it was really good weed..ou know that really expensive high grade weed...the light green with white hairs on it..expensive shit. IM Thinking it was laced with something...But nobody else had that happen...They said It was strong for them to..but they didn't experiance anything like I did. Maybe I somewhat tuned into that whole astral plain thing everybody talks about when they Have OBEs or NDEs...Thats how I felt...but wont do it ever again.

mckenna is worlds better than leary. Leary was a self righteous, facist, egotistical asshole. he preached that everyone born should experience the effects of psychedelic drugs and that is just not true. and he completley dispised people against them. i witnessed my best friend have a bad trip on LSD. Leary was a facist he just pressed his ideas about these things on everyone as much as he could and ruined the use of the wonderful enethogens. he turned the use of these tools criminal.

Correction about Leary. I'm not personally a big Leary fan, but his main idea behind psychedlics was to REGULATE them so they could be used by psychiatrists as a theraputic tool. He was actually quite against the use of psychedelics for recreation. Unfortunately the big THEY of the times needed a scapegoat and since he wasn't against them, he MUST have been the one telling the kids to do them.

First of, i dont do any drug i dont get from my doctor. But i find this really interesting he talks about a lot of what i think about.. o O , I don't think everyone needs drug but i can see how it could help the most indoctrinated of us. People who have been listening to the wrong people so long that they are willing to kill and die for what they have heard, but know nothing about.
