What you forget, nevuial, is that we are not a democracy, we are a Republic. Let's keep those two apart, and quit describing our country as a form of government that it is not, nor was ever intended to be, in fact democracy was spoken of disdainfully by our founding fathers. So let's call us what wee are, a Republic. OK?

The people that understand the technicial issues also realize, that bringing the troops home would have devistating results for a campaign slogan. It also proves those supporting it have no clue to the geopolitical ramafications of many of roon pauls solutions. His issues are indeed very important, but his solutions are childish. You need to look at the big picture and not at single issues in a vacuum.

But it's supposed to be the same, Republic comes from the latin "Res Publica" (Public Thing) and Democracy comes from the greek "Demos Kratos" (People Power). As there both terms used to describe a governement, can you tell me the difference between a governement that's is a "public thing" and a governement that gives people the power? I agree that some nuances now exist but basically it's the same. Moreover it doesn't really matter "democracy/poetry" sounded better to me=)

But it DOES matter. All "democracies fail". That is a fact proven by history and our founding fathers knew this and warned against it. (Read more about it). Calling it "similar" shows your ignorance to what the words mean, and "words have meaning" and need to be used very carefully. You obviously choose to continue the encrochment of our country toward a democracy by promoting this ignorance to the nieve lemmings that frequent ron paul videos on youtube. You need to do some homework soon.

To summarize it VERY quickly:A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule). A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good).

I recognize that this is not the correct forum to gain an education. Maybe someone could explain why "super delegates" determine who should lead a party rather then the majority rule. Doesn't that remove the concept of "by the people for the people." This super delegate system seems like a breeding ground for corruption.
