Cenk: "There's nobody else like him [Cheney] in the country." For good reason, Cenk, he has a complete disregard and lack of respect for those around him. He's self-serving and ruthless. You, yourself often talk about "that's not right" or "that's wrong", yet you respect a man who has no moral compass. Like someone said above, it's like saying you respect dictators such as Hitler, Mao and Kim Jong Il. Gotta love their determination and ability to control situations to get results they like.

Didn't Cenk give the appropriate disclaimer? He's not using respect in the traditional sense...he despises Dick Cheney and rather, he respects his resolve and ability to get results only.

I suppose he needed a further disclaimer on not using logic in the traditional sense either. In which reality can you divorce the character trait you admire/respect from its consequences? My point was that people of "resolve" like Dick Cheney are self-serving and can only get results by trampling others' concerns. That's why they get results. Despite Cenk's disclaimer, I have to take umbrage with the idea the trait and the results it produces can be divided: respect one and hate the other?

It's not ballsy when you're shouting the general consensus in Washington on both sides (Republicans and Democrats). Both parties believe what Cheney says, yet he is painted as some sort of extremist.

Start by reading Machiavelli's, "The Prince and the Discourse." Then you'll see it, G.W. Bush as the Prince. Also, most of his changes are short lived. All Presidents can break the law and most do. There is a glaring loophole in the Constitution in that the President interprets the law before the courts. It is a necessary loophole, most President only use it in emergencies. Cheney has abused it, I would hate to see a President I supported abuse power in a similar way, even if I agreed with him
