If you are someone who knows Pavarotti and his performances, you should be able to tell that this is not live. Just the way he sings it, the faces he makes, etc. Watch another version and see for yourself. Even the orchestra is pre-recorded. You cannot argue something that has actual proof either. On Pavarotti's wikipedia page, it admits that this was recorded weeks earlier, orchestra and all. He was not in such a great condition to be able to totally trust his self at his age and illness Thanks

At this point he had been just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, some respect for a legend that, perhaps, had recorded the song three days before the performance but could not sing because it was very cold.....Pavarotti IS OPERA......

Why do people care so much if it was lip synched? Did he not still sing the aria? Who cares whether it was that night or three weeks earlier. Is not all stage performance illusion?

It is a known fact that this last performance was lip-synched. It was revealed this year: Leone Magiera, who directed the performance, revealed in his 2008 memoirs, Pavarotti Visto da Vicino, that the performance was prerecorded weeks earlier. "The orchestra pretended to play for the audience, I pretended to conduct and Luciano pretended to sing. The effect was wonderful," he wrote.

luciano pavarotti one of the greatest tenors of our time there are only a few people here in the philippines that has a taste for the music he makes. in his last performance lip-synched or not isn't he just plain wonderful specially when he pull out the notes of the "nessun dorma" just plain God given talent and charisma.
