ê pode dizer que a Igreja foi podre? Isso mostra que você é mais um que não conhece História e nem ao menos assistiu ao filme. SE tivesse assistido, pelo menos teria uma idéia do que os jesuítas fizeram em favor dos índios. Podre é a sua ignorância.

Dagoberto. O filme eh claro sobre o descaso da Igreja Catolica, pela vida dos indios, preferindo politicamente favorecer os interesses escravagistas dos conquistadores. Os indios foram massacrados com O CONSENTIMENTO da Igreja. Isso voce nao pode negar. Assista o filme de novo. Eu lamento que homens que se puseram na posicao de "falar por Deus", tenham agido assim.

Historicaente, en Portugal y sus colonias (o sea Brasil), la esclavitud de los indios americanos estaba permitida. No asi en la America Espanyola. Los indios en esta historia pasan a ser esclavos cuando la frontera de las misiones en cuestion (actual Paraguay) pasan a control brasilenyo. He ahi la gran diversidad de personas de cultura nativa americana en America Espanyola (mexico, Peru) y lo escaso de ellos en Brasil.

yes, we portuguese made the local populations slaves, but it was normal for portuguese to mate with local people, from other races, which shows there was no idea of superiority from us. i find it much worse what the spanish did to the incas (or mayas, not sure), where they took advantage of theyr religious beliefs, and the tribe worked until they all died..the spanish destroyed a wonderfull culture, without thinking twice.

We should not judge others for what they did, they did in the context of their time and culture. I just want to point out that my country was "colonized" by the Spanish, as I am Mexican. I can tell you that our native cultures are doing very well now. More than 90 million of us have indigenous blood in our veins, so believe me when I say that we in no way died under the Spanish. I have been in Sao Paulo, and see nowhere the impact of the native culture you see everywhere in Mexico City.
