I play games for plot really, not the pretty visuals (I count them as a bonus :D ) but even with the outdated graphics, ff7 is still one of the best games ever. it cant be imrpoved.

Why not? Same game, better looking. Graphics maybe aren't everything, but they add alot. With small things like expressions.. This game would be even more perfect.

Well, they wouldn't change the story, just the graphics so that it looks more similar to the other FFVII games. It shouldn't hurt. Personally, I really would like to see it remade with better graphics.
But...of course, they have never yet really stated that they were doing a remake. I don't think they will :(

ok everyone,there isn't a remake!
That ending was just a redone version of the teaser they showed at E3 a year or two ago.
They said they probably wouldn't remake the game because it would atleast take FIVE years to complete;not to mention sony is failing so epicly.
And don't think just cause the 360 got FFXlll that it will get the remake.
Square isn't really lookin to REMAKE a perfectly good game. Espesially with the lame voice acting. Hit up Ebay and continue the story.

I'm also fairly certain that Aerith's reaction shot here is meant to override Maiden, which has been retconned all over the place, and has been omitted several times from the more recent Ultimanias. There's little reason for Aerith to have a reaction shot if she is not reacting to his death.
