Wow! Really impressed. She's been around for how many years? A lot more than the 6 years The Beatles topped the US charts. I think their record shows up better than hers. 6 years as opposed to 20 (or thereabouts)! Don't get me wrong. Mariah is very talented but to compare her to Elvis or The Beatles just isn't right.

Publicity works two ways, if you know about Mariah, she would have fared better without it, because unlike some, Mariah has strived to stay away from that. Note as well that it is very easy to gain popularity, if your willing to do whatever it takes when opportunity presents itself, but it is an entirely different thing to not have sold your soul as a star then keeping it for nearly twenty years and counting is pretty impressive when these modern stars burn real bright and then flicker out.
