They may feel the same for music that you'd listen to, and you probably felt the same for music from generations before your own.
But it's pretty opinionated of you to look down upon them; maybe others don't feel the same as you do.
Or better yet, people might like classics like this and current music just the same. Having pity for those of another generation for simply having different tastes is just wrong--the only pity you should have is for yourself with that narrow-minded sentiment.

i disagree. music today is extremely uncreative. everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you listen to the top ten songs on itunes, its all the same crap that was there the past 5 years.

If you measure music today by whats on the top ten of Itunes, then sure it looks like crap - but by doing that you discredit the wonderful new artists, songwriters, and talented musicians emerging on the internet. In the 60s/70s/80s there was decent music on the radio/mainstream media outlets, now you have to go look for it yourself.

Talking Heads are a very intelligent American band - who "understood" the importance of black American music - and incorporated it into their own - their sound was very unique at the time (especially in 1977-1983) if you like this song/video - check out their album "Remain in light" and their movie "Stop making sense".
