Punk IS an attitude? Yes. Has it always existed? Also yes. Both are right. It got a name and a shape in the late 70's? Yes. Like in everything there where pioneers: Velvet Undergrownd, The Stooges... Even a group in 1964 in Peru called "Los Saicos" where singing a song "Let's demolish the train station"... But it really doesn't matter. Real Punk rock is not much alive now, but the attitude is still out there, and always will be.

I admire your research. I`m sure there are bands out there now making political noise. That`s what they feel now. When the realization of survival comes along, they all get jobs or join commercial bands. Some even speak poetry. The result is, Punk in it`s purist form has been dead a long time. People are just cashing in on it now while they can. Once the dinasaurs are gone, it will be all crap like Slipknot as an eg. Against Me! great band and lyrics. Too commercial. Nobody gets it!
