I remember watching the Boston Bruins play and the hockey today doesn't compare to it. It was good, hard hitting hockey back then with very little fighting. Orr was a favorite on and off the ice.

Two things are very notieable...he skates with his head up when he carry's the puck and he is extremely fast....He is aware of everythingaround him and he has the advantage of SPEED...watch how many strides it takes him when he carry's the puck from behind the net and the blue line. God given skills and talent

If you won a major award in your NHL career---you were a very good player. If you won 2 different awards during your career, you were a Star. If you won several awards during your career---you were a Superstar.
What do you call a player that won every conceivable award the NHL had to offer, and did it in 1 season ?
Orr won the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, Ross, Norris, Hart, Plus / Minus Award, all while obliterating NHL scoring records.
He is the only person to perform such a feat.

I see where you are coming from. Mario was more raw talented then Gretzky. But too often people think Gretzky is the best for his stats and records. That's not what truely made him the best... He had like a sixth sense, he always saw a play before it happened and according to Bobby Orr "could pass better then anyone I had seen". Gretzky made the best plays, THAT's what made him good. I still think Lemieux would have been better if he had played longer though.

ok gretzky is shit to compare to orr... orr did it all, he could fight hit set up plays and score.shit he even played hurt. gretzky score lots of goals but the only reason y he score so much was because u couldent touch him... they kicked one guy out of the leauge cause he hit gretzky.look it up on youtube.plus gretzky had two fighters to protect him all game long.orr stood up for him self.gretzky could only play one side of the game.orr played both and did them better than anyone in the game.

Shmee83 you know hockey.Was there anybody better?No way as a Bruins fan growing up I wish I saw him in his prime but i was a little young and he got drafted the year I was born.
