I heard a radio interview of Robin Trower back in the day - mid '70s,.. He was saying that Jimi Hendrix was a big inspiration for him. He expressed it almost in that Jim Morrison style where the spirit of the deceased had entered him. His earlier work with Procol Harum is good, but in the '70s he did take a a Hendrix like sound. It was none-the-less,... great.

I believe I remember that interview - he also expressed a fondness for vintage Stratocasters I recall - pre CBS guitars with large headstocks - Trower was magnificent!

I believe this is from the "Living Out of Time" DVD, recorded at the Crossroads Festival at Rockpalast (Germany) on 09/03/2005. I believe this concert was on his 50th birthday! Great concert!
