Man you need to practice, i got the barre chords after 2 months! And it's harder on acoustic than on an electric, but you should practice on your acoustic, because if you get it on acoustic than you get it on electric as well!

keep at it and they will! try to see if the creases on your finger (the joints) are touching the string, it can mute them. Try pressing harder. It takes practice, but I got them eventually doing this!

a combo is basically the amp head and speaker cab built into the same unit (usually smaller). The stack is the opposite.

Dude. I have been playing guitar for three years and have always steered clear of bar chords because I couldn't do it. I thought I was too weak. You have given me the motivation to make my fingers stronger.

I'm having problems. I can't press down the whole bar; my index finger is a bit squishy near the base of it, and refuses to completely hold down my G string.

buy some new strings. I got a free guitar too, the strings were all black, but I played it for a while. When I got new strings it was a huge difference! They hadn't been changed in 3 years......

it takes a while for even your muscles to become accustomed to these new positions your fingers are doing, that's half the battle, just practice, practice, practice.... it's the only "cure" to any guitar problems, practice
