Wade was the Finals MVP and NOT Shaq. Let's not even pretend that Shaq would have won that finals series against Dallas without Dwade. Let's not ignore reality on that one. Unlike Kobe, Shaq never even MADE IT to an NBA finals without a fellow All Star/ All nba co-star. Yes!! Believe it!! Penny Hardaway may not be so great today after injury and age, but he was already an All Star and All NBA team member who led the Magic to a 50 win season BEFORE Shaq came to Orlando.

Let's plz stop talking about how many rings Kobe has won without Shaq unless we're willing to discuss how many rings other stars have won without the presence of another all star player. Shaq ALWAYS needed one and Pierce needed 2. there is no evidence that Shaq or Paul Pierce are even capable of GETTING to an NBA finals without someone on their team who is an All Star during the yr they made it to the finals. They've never done it. EVER. At least Kobe made it to the finals without an all star.

Oh yeah, and having Brian Scalabrine as your best backup forward is a whole lot better than that. You can't compare players by their RINGS. I know as much as anyone would that KOBE IS BETTER THAN PIERCE. Of course players need all star help. The only plahyer whose won without it was Bill Walton when he was on the Blazers. And by the way Pierce won 24 games and only played 50 games that season. Kobe has also had Phil Jackson for most of his career, and Pierce had Pitino.

BS man, do you mean the same center that Kendrick Perkins ate up for lunch in both meetings, and the same center that didn't really make a name for himself until this year. Pierce hurt his knee, Rondo hurt his ankle, Perkins hurt his shoulder, and the Celtics had played the most playoff games any team had ever played and they still beat the Lakers in six! BTW, those things didn't seem to affect the Lakers from from making it to the finals now did it, out of the "tougher" conference?

Oh, well my main point is you can't just bring rings into the discussion. Maybe I didn't just establish it well enough. I know for damn sure Kobe is better than Pierce even as a Celtics fan, but guess what? Brian Scalabrine has a ring too, and Charles Barkely and Karl Malone don't! Does that make Scal better than them? And of course Kobe has won three rings without KG, and Pierce hasn't. Truth is, Kobe hasn't won anything without Shaq, PP hasn't won anything without KG.

I feel what you're saying. It just irks me a little when I see people belittle another player's legacy or greatness by pointing out that they never won a championship without having a dynamic co-star. I don't think Kobe NEEDs to win without Shaq nor do I think Pierce needs to win without KG. Just like MJ didn't need to win without Pippen and Rodman/Grant. Just like Shaq doesn't need to win without Kobe/wade/penny. Anyway, congrats to the C's 4 a great yr. Hopefully the Bulls can win one soon.

Pierce faked that shit he wasnt affected by it, rondo's play wasnt affected by any injury, perkins is trash he only scores like 4 pts a game hes non factor.they were lucky to get past lebron in that game 7.w/ bynum out, kobes finger, plus ariza coming off a huge injury and pau's sore ankle the lakers were more banged up and r BETTER THAN THE CELDICKS AT FULL STRENGTH

I think you clearly underestimate that it's not just talent, it's chemistry and match-ups, and no he didn't have a bad game, Perk knew how to play him! Pierce "faked" that, why would he fake it? That would be one stupid thing to fake, and last time I checked, a sprained MCL and a bone bruise isn't faking it. Did you not WATCH the finals??? Yeah Rondo's play was affected by the ankle injury! And plus, Pierce completely CRUSHED your small forwards and took advantage of that, that's why he wasn't affected by it because Vlad Radmonovic, trevor Ariza, and Sasha Vujacic are HORRIBLE at defense. perk is straight up garbage? Even though I dislike the "I'm the big man" attitude, he did guide us to beat Detroit in game 5 with Ray Allen. He's a moron, but he knows how to play defense. Doesn't matter how lucky we were to get past lebron, just shows how good Cleveland was.
