Songs About Jane's overhall sound is more 70s and even 90s than 80s, to my ears. It Won'T Be Soon... is the record where they have emphazised their 80's preferences (The Police, Prince... just to name some). This song has a jam into it that to me is classic Motown crossing the pure guitar driven sound of some spanish influenced tracks of the 90's, softly touching and sweet. Imho, of course. This is definitely a wonderful song though. From start to end, music and words and voice just are perfect.

i'm confused if he's going to the woman because he felt bad for her or actually loved her & left his girlfriend. anyway, to be honest, i think the director or w/e should have done a better job. i don't like the story line. but the lyrics that maroon 5 wrote is great. but yes, good vid anyway.
