No, it can't answer any question; you misunderstand the philosophy of science in a very bad way. It doesn't aim to answer unanswerable questions, which is proven by the fact that all hypotheses must be falsifiable. "Is there an unseeable, unobservable God?" is exactly the kind of question science doesn't concern itself with.
Stephen Jay Gould put it pretty well when he said science answers the question of "What is?" while religion/ethics/philosophy answers the quesiton of "What ought to be?"

You obviously havent heard the arguments of Richard Dawkins (who, by the way, is a scientist). Just because you cant prove something false doesnt mean that we must accept it as true. Science has found no phenomenon that justifies a need for a god, so the odds of an unseeble, unknowable god are very minute. There is no end to the things that have no evidence of existing but cant be proved not to. However, we dont feel a need to believe most of them.

Scientific hypotheses MUST be falsifiable; it has been this way since Bacon. If contrary evidence cannot exist that would disprove the hypothesis, then it is not a scientific hypothesis. "God exists" cannot be falsified because the definition of God precludes physical evidence for or against; therefore, it is not a scientific claim.

That doesn't mean we have to behave as if God DOES exist. It just means it's a question that science doesn't concern itself with because experimentation cannot prove his non-existence.
Dawkins would agree with this. He's often said that science has no business answering the question of whether or not a teacup orbits Saturn because it's a virtually unanswerable and unproveable question. God is no different.

Then if (a) God exists, then we were wrong. Your point? Implying that one should turn to belief in a God simply because we could possibly be wrong is logically flawed as described in Pascal's Gambit. God would reward true believers, not people who self-centeredly gamble on the "safe side". That, and assuming God does exist, there's no proof that it's YOUR God. The God that Christians worship could possibly be nothing more than a fabrication and the real God is Vishnu.
