| I admire Wilson and love his innovative spirit and new ways of staging. He has given the world wonderful gifts. // I balked when he began discussing spirituals! Not one song of protest? Nothing negative? This isn't true. And I question the wisdom of taking refuge in Christianity. It was often a palliative, a canard. In spirituals, I sense a mournful moan running underneath like an aquifer. Longing implies hope, but longing is a painful emotion. // Thanks for great interview. |

| I see theatre play "Vojcek" by Bihner. Director was Robert Wilson and that is my best expiriance in the theatre. Wilson is probably the best theatre director on the world today. Who is woman near him? |

| I never saw Robert Wilson before. I saw his play "Joseph Stalin" at BAM in '70's. The cast did not have enough time to rehearse so it ran a little long by about 2 hrs! The play included "Life And Times Of Sigmund Freud" 1 with people crossing the stage for about an hour; 1 in a drawing room with a girl w/ a ladder lighting candles; 1 in a dorm with ostriches dancing around the beds; 1 w/ people's heads in the sand speaking words. He was Byrd Hofmann and his school of birds. Bravo Robert Wilson. |
