Personally... this song gets me as close to feeling high on heroin as possible, without ever have done it. This is definitely the counter culture response to the west coast music scene at the time. I loved both genres at that time in my life & still do. Enjoyed the Velvets numerous times at the Second Fret in Philly back in the day.
