well in the UK it had been standard practise to enter stucture fires whereing breathing appuratus since the late 70's, it had also been standard practise since the the intoduction of proto oxegen sets to use a BA entry control board which started as a blakboard, which is a system i have rarely heard of in the US. 17 years ago (u are very backwards, and some of the practises untill recently have been endangering crews)
