Video Description:
Its Halloween and Laura and Mary are going out to soap the Olsens windows. While there Laura over hears Mr. and Mrs.Olsen arguing. When she peeks though the window see sees Mr.Olsens take a sword and beheads a manikin although Laura thinks it was Mrs.Olsen. Frightened, Laura runs out just as Nels comes out. Unaware of Laura thinking it was Mrs.Olsens head and not a manakin he makes Laura promise not to tell anyone what he just did. Laura runs home and no on will believe her. The next day she tells her friend Carol who also doesnt believe her until they go to the Merchantile and ask for Mrs.Olsen and Mr.Olsen tells her she is not around. Now both are convinced that Mr.Olsen did the unthinkable. When Laura goes to tell Nellie and Willie that their father beheaded their mother they too don't take it seriously until that night they see their mothers apron with what appears to be blood on it. Scared they try to eat supper not sure what to think when Mr.Olsen said while cooking supper he spilled sauce on their mothers apron. Relieved, they tell him what Laura said. Nellie then promises to Laura what really happened. Or so she says.
