Drum Solo on electronic drums

Uploaded by: drummermandan
Video Description:
A drum solo on my electronic drum kit (Roland VDrums TD-12). It is a bit ropey as the structure is not brilliant, but it contains a few new techniques that I have been practising. Feel free to comment on how I can improve some of these techniques. (Also, this has been done on an electric kit for ease of practising and recording, not that I don't use/prefer acoustics!)
Update: There has been many comments about if this vid has been sped up/altered to make it look as though im playing faster...THERE HAS BEEN NO modifications to the speed of the video, all is being played in REAL time. The beginning (for some unknown reason) is slightly out of sync...that occured
during the upload process (prob an error or something). If people do not believe me then fine I've sed my piece...just note that any comments relating if has been sped up will be marked as spam. Sorry to those who this does not relate to.

Sounds really good, and any one with half a brain can tell this is NOT sped up, there's drummers out there they can play faster than you, and though people say it is sped up it's not, they're just jealous cause they suck and you don't. lol

see now I respect you man, you at least tried to make your electric kit sound almost as real as an acoustic drum unlike those other fags who make their electric kits sound like buttheads on toast... I'd respect you more if you were using a real kit but then I'm guessing your situated with neighbours who are like "SHUT THE FUCK UP BITCH!"

"I'd respect you more if you were using an accoustic kit" I've just watched you on a kit and it's strikes me as being a bit like a learner driver passing judgement on Michael Schumaker.

yea ive been druming for about 2 years on my kit and im thinking about geting and electric kit now, are they worth buying, like will they break easy and if you play them to much will they start sounding crappy idk im just asking if any one will reply and help me out that would be great, and by the way very very nice playing

Dude... that video is like 2 years old... I was like... shit back then... So I really don't think you can pass judgement towards me... and I was never sayin this dude was crap, nor was I bagging him out for using an electric kit, as he probably has neighbours who hate the noise
Thanks. Electronic ... ( 2 weeks ago by drummermandan)
Thanks. Electronic kits are definitely worth buying! As you have been playing for two years on an acoustic (I say that as I would not recommend them to a beginner due to having diff feel) then using an electronic for practising, in my opinion, is a great investment. They are pretty durable, and generally last. The hihat pad did mess up on this one, but roland send me a replacement, no questions asked! But note, my kit gets used alot, so that's prob why it messed up.

I would recommend Roland...they are the best well known make that use mesh heads (basically try and imitate real drum skins), even the cheaper kits. Plus you get great sounds. Obviously, depending on your price range different range of features are available...I think their entry level kits start at about
£500, and their most expensive being around £3500-£4000.

Thanks. Yeah, Bonham has definitely influenced my bass drum playing, along with other greats such as Dennis Chambers. I feel it is one of the hardest aspects to get fast as well as controlled...I am still trying to perfect it!

Cheers mate. The TD-12 drum module have outputs that can be connected up to amplification. It means that it can be hooked up to a hi-fi or pc. That's what I did and simply recorded it as a .wav file on pc...it's a pretty amateur way of doing it but it works fine.

You have a more unique style. I like it. Gives me ideas for when my td12 gets here.
