| The story behind this song is: Sometime back in the early '80s, Robert Plant attended a wedding in 29 palms where he met Alannah Miles (who sang the song 'Black Velvet....hence the phrase 'her velvet glove', and the line about 'When I hear your voice on the radio' as well as all the Elvis references in the video). They had an affair and the song is about her....not the town. I can't confirm this, but....you know. |
