Erik Eck's 39-second kitemare in the air. Eric Eck, getting launched (against his will) some 50 metres in the air over Mokuleia Beach Park, Hawaii. Eric was caught in a freak thermal, and was extremely lucky to survive.

Kite surfers are actually anti-social, they force those of us that are in the occupation of rescuing people into dangerous positions, we save them constantly and they repeatedly do it.
Think of us that have a job saving people and stay away from dangerous conditions....we like to go home to our families jack ass!

why dont they put controllable air flaps, using 550 cord to allow the draft forcing the kite to lift to vent out in cases like that? would be hard to design.
