Are you able to ... ( 2 months ago by mundt53)
Are you able to bear your own weight without feeling like you are going to fall over? This is one of the primary symptoms of a severe sprain. If the person can't bear their own weight or the ankle feels unstable there is a good possibility of torn ligaments or other structural damage. You need to confirm from a doctor that you don't have structural damage such as a torn ligament or a fracture before starting to do any activity.

To keep from having sprained ankles all your life, you need to rehab your injured ankle. If you are NOT in a hurry to get better there are a bunch of sites that will tell you the old fashioned way to rehab. If you are in a hurry my program will quickly reduce the swelling and let you start strengthening with dramatic results in less than a week.

Sounds like a pretty severe sprain. Can you stand on your foot without feeling unstable?
An orthopedic doctor would be able to tell if you have any structural damage. They will do what sports trainers call a drawer test. It shows how loose your ligaments are and is a good indicator of a grade 2 sprain. Isn't it great that the hospital takes your money and then doesn't really tell yo
u anything? In this situation I would get confirmation from a doctor before starting rehab.

I couldn't bear my weight on it all week, but now it seems better. Swelling is going down after some raised ankle excercises (general moving the ankle joint). Is it possible I have a torn ligament/fracture with these symptoms?
I can bear weight on the ankle from yesterday, 6 days after the sprain..?

i am unstable when i stand on it single legged. i feel pressure and a bit of pain and fear. its gotten better swellings gone down, but not all the way, the bruises still remain... its kinda weird, i press the swelling in and it leaves an imprint. but any way its been about 5-6 days. it's absolutely amazing how much it costs just to hear its not broken...kinda obvious im not in pain.. any way i was wondering should i get it checked up b4 i start the rehab.

how can u tell if it's torn?
Athletic trainers ... ( 2 months ago by Valtrax53)
Athletic trainers or doctors can do a test called a drawer test. It has to do with the normal "slop" in the ankle joint vs what the "slop" is in an injured ankle. I really hate to tell you this, but often the only way to tell is an MRI or a really sharp doctor who knows what your ligaments are supposed to feel like. If you are uncertain, its worth a trip to the doctor to make sure.
If you can wait ... ( 2 months ago by Valtrax53)
If you can wait until you go full speed, its always better. The program gives people who don't or can't afford to miss something important a chance to do what they want.
Thanks for your positive comment. I'm glad that you had good results.
I twisted my anckle ... ( 1 month ago by Halcon14)
I twisted my anckle about 2 months ago, after three weeks I came back to playing soccer as usual (I had this before few times) only that this time it does not get batter after a certain point, I cannot sprint and when I go down stairs and lean on my right foot it hurts at the joint. I am not looking for fast healing... healing and play normally again would feel like being born again, would this program help?

in my opinion.... this does work. i've gained flexibility, strength and balance back quicker than i have expected... to bad i JUST found out its torn... when i think about it, i can do all this and somethings torn inside.(not trying to advertise) or say its thanks to the program, i have to visit the doc first.
Your ortho will ... ( 1 month ago by Valtrax53)
Your ortho will tell you if you need surgery. One of the questions that I would ask is how bad is it torn? Is it completely torn? A partial tear will probably not require surgery. I would ask the ortho doc how long he realistically expects it will take to get ready for rehab. What he tells you will probably be based on your age and situation. Make sure you let him know that you want to do whatever is necessary to get better as fast as possible. Let me know how it goes.
ok... he said it ... ( 1 month ago by appleseed101)
ok... he said it was a completer tear on my tibiofibular ligament, and a slight bone fracture. he tested my ankle strength, told me to push my toes to dif direction while he added pressure. he pressed my ankles and what not. But he told me i didn't need any surgery. and for rehab, i can start when ever im ready. all i have to do is call them and get my referral. im not sure how this works.. complete tear and no surgery?
I don't understand ... ( 1 month ago by mundt53)
I don't understand how a completely torn ligament can heal without surgery. If it was me, I would probably ask the doctor or physical therapist how your ligament is going to heal when its completely torn without surgery. Sounds kind of funny to me. I've always wanted to know how a person with a complete tear healed without surgery. I always assumed the ligament had to be repaired surgically. Sorry I can't help you with this. I;m in unchartered territory. Its a very serious injury.

Did your doctor ... ( 3 weeks ago by mundt53)
Did your doctor confirm that you did not have any torn ligaments or fractures? If you don't have any structural damage to your ankle, then moving it is the start to recovery. Doctors used to tell people with injuries or who were recovering from surgery NOT to move. Then they found out that not moving prolonged the recovery period. Make sure that when you start moving your ankle it is in a controlled fashion so you don't injure it further. Take advil for discomfort. Its the safest.

How should I start moving it though? Alphabets? What do you suggest?

There have been ... ( 3 weeks ago by mundt53)
There have been more than 2000 people who've experienced success with the program. Out of those 2000, less than 125 have requested a refund. Many of them could not use the program because of a fracture or torn ligament. If you are constantly twisting your ankles that means you have never rehabbed them and if you continue to do what you are doing, you will most likely suffer the consequences of scar tissue, restricted movement, arthritis and ligament damage at a young age. 'nuf said?

well u didnt even say what movements that we were to do. and if im constantly twisting them id imagin its cuz i fall on them wrong. and u cant blame me for being skeptical. shit u shld be more worried if i wasnt. i mean if this actually works it would be wonderful and id be oober happy.

If you didn't know you injured your ankle in the first place you didn't sprain it badly at all obviously its gonna heal in less than a week
