Haldir becomes obsessed with getting the ring,
the ring the of course leads to the death of Haldir...then when Salron gets the ring every1 teams up to avenge Haldir and destroy the ring...though...Boromir gets killed in all of it and then the ring is left in the hands of the hobbit(frodo)....it all starts anew with that.
